Who are we?
Our Beliefs
Valley Christian Fellowship is a part of the Evangelical Free Church of America, an association of autonomous churches united around core theological convictions. Rather than dogmatic convictions, the EFCA cherishes beliefs that help us understand who God is, who we are, and what we are called to be. Our Core Values
Authentic Fellowship & Generous Hospitality
We believe that true community is born out of Christ’s transformation. Through openness, hospitality, and mutual care, we welcome all people into our lives, sharing meals and God’s love as we grow together in Christ (1 John 1:5-7, Acts 2:44).
Spiritual Growth & Discipleship
We are committed to growing in Christ through intentional discipleship. We seek to know Christ, make Him known, and do what He did by living out the "one another" commands and nurturing each other’s spiritual formation (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Kingdom Living
We strive to reflect God’s Kingdom on earth through lives marked by love, service, generosity, and sacrificial living. We aim to bring transformation to Santa Ynez Valley and beyond by living out the way of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20, John 13:35).
Servant Leadership
We honor the role of shepherding by nurturing spiritual growth and cultivating a culture of togetherness. Leaders depend on God and lead with humility, serving others for their flourishing (1 Peter 5:1-3, Mark 10:42-45).
Scriptural Rootedness
Our lives are anchored in Scripture. We engage with the Word of God, allowing its truths to shape our understanding, actions, and worship, guiding us in all areas of life (Ephesians 5:18-19, Colossians 3:16).
Response to God's Faithfulness
Prayer and worship are responses to God's character and ongoing work in our lives. We reflect on His faithfulness and love, which calls us to live lives of gratitude, obedience, and devotion (Psalm 59:16, Psalm 5:11).
Transformational Encounters
We value personal encounters with God that lead to true transformation. As we posture ourselves before Jesus, we experience spiritual growth, emotional healing, and relational reconciliation, fostering lives that reflect Christ's love and grace (Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 3:18).
Empowerment for Mission
We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live out our faith with courage and obedience. Worship, prayer, and community life equip us to participate in God's mission, seeking transformation for our lives and the world around us (Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:19-20).
Authenticity & Integrity
We hope to live lives of authenticity, humility, and integrity, both in worship and in our daily lives. We desire to reflect the character of Christ in all we do, drawing others into His love and truth (John 4:24, Romans 12:9-10).
