• I grew up in a church that never taught the Bible. When I went to college a friend asked me to go to a Bible study. I said, "What's that? Only the clergy can understand the Bible." I was hooked after one Bible discussion. I admitted I was a sinner, asked Jesus to lead my life and suddenly I could understand the Bible! I joined a Bible study every night of the week because I was so hungry for God's truth. I love ministering in the Santa Ynez Valley. My passion is to provide practical Bible teaching with dynamic worship and authentic small groups so everyone in our Valley can become fully  devoted followers of Christ and glorify God.

  • Jon firey - worship pastor

I am originally from Tulsa, OK, but have spent that last twelve years working as a professional musician in Nashville, TN. I have been blessed with the opportunity to tour and minister with bands such as, FFH, The Henningsens, Guy Penrod, Dennis Jernigan, Warren Barfield, 33 Miles, and with my wife in our band called NewFire. In addition to touring, I have enjoyed working as a studio musician and as a producer making albums for stores such as LifeWay, Family Christian Stores, and Hobby Lobby. I have been married to my wife, Allison, since 2005 and we have two beautiful daughters named Gracie Kate and Millie Anne. I am so excited to be part of what God is doing at VCF and here in the Valley. Music and worship have helped me build a personal relationship with God, and I am so honored to be part of leading that worship in a corporate setting at VCF!

  • Hey Everyone, I'm Mike. I am the Pastor of Teens and Parents here at VCF. I live with my awesome wife Hannah in Santa Ynez. I I love the church, I love our church, and I have a deep desire to see students understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. By God's grace, we have a thriving youth ministry in the SY valley, and I consider it a great pleasure to be a pastor. I graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a Bachelor's degree in something ministry related, and went on to receive a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. This isn't a very interesting bio, but I trust that when we meet, you'll think I'm pretty cool.

  • I first had a desire to work with students when I went to college in Oregon and had an opportunity to serve as a resident assistant on campus. It gave me an opportunity to grow as a leader and eventually take the things I learned to different ministry settings such as volunteering at a juvenile detention facility, youth ministry, and serving on a camp leadership team as well. I love working with the students at VCF as well as watching them start to both inquire and understand what it means to live out their lives entirely for Christ.

  • God revealed Himself to me as an adult by miraculously intervening in my life. My husband and I wanted to know Him better, so looked for a church home. I helped in children’s ministry because I wanted to serve God and that’s where my kids were. After volunteering for about 9 years, God called me way out of my comfort zone to lead children’s ministry and I was able to experience His power and faithfulness in a huge way. I’ve discovered that following God is the greatest adventure we can have and I want to serve Him every day of my life.

  • My whole life God has put on my heart the need to help others. I was blessed to help those affected by Disaster for 35 years by working for the American Red Cross where I was able to help those who had lost everything. Upon leaving Red Cross God brought to work for VCF as the Director of Special Projects. I married my incredible husband in 1990 and love him more every day. My passion is to help those who are struggling in life and come along them and support, pray and encourage them. I have been blessed to do missions in several countries through different Church’s and to help those who have less than we do.

  • Suzanne Marshall - women's ministry director

I have been involved in ministry since I was 14--the year I became the church pianist! Over the years I have been the women"s director at various churches, and been involved in the worship ministry, connections, pastoral search and recruitment, and serving my pastor (who is also my husband) in whatever he needs! My favorite ministry and biggest accomplishment has been being the mom of three sons who are now grown and serving our Lord in various capacities! I am delighted to serve the women at VCF!

  • I am the office administrative assistant for Valley Christian Fellowship, serving all office needs for our wonderful staff. As the voice and face of the church office, I love welcoming newcomers and visitors to our church. I have lived in the Valley for 4 years and began attending VCF 2 years ago. I immediately began serving in children’s ministry, and soon after began welcoming others into our church as a greeter, and in the church office. I am currently involved in assisting the senior ladies’ events and monthly luncheons, which I love. My passions include; helping others, art, & event planning.

  • With God's perfect plan and timing in place I met my husband, Andy, 38 years ago and he is a daily reminder of God’s enormous love for me. My bookkeeping career began in 1978 and continues through our construction business formed 35 years ago. I began working a few hours a week at the church office, which has happily turned into two full time days. It is a blessing to service along side and to be served by the committed and amazing staff at Valley Christian Fellowship Church.
